Delverium Demo: Download & First Steps

The free Delverium demo is live on Steam with 1–2 hours of content, a dungeon, and 8-player co-op. How to download it, what is inside, and save questions.

Last updated:

Yes, there is a free Delverium demo — it is live on Steam right now. The demo launched on February 7, 2025 and has been updated several times since, most notably in February 2026 when Sagestone Games added 8-player online co-op and a world boss fight. It is the fastest way to decide whether the full game is for you before Early Access arrives on September 22, 2026.

How to download the Delverium demo

  1. Open Steam and search for Delverium, or go straight to the demo page: Delverium Demo on Steam.
  2. Click Download Demo — it is free, no purchase needed.
  3. Launch it from your library. The demo runs on the same modest spec list as the full game (see system requirements).

The February 2026 multiplayer update

Originally the demo shipped with 4-player co-op. The February 2026 update expanded online co-op to 8 players and added a world boss, turning the demo into a proper launch card for the full game's multiplayer. Sagestone Games also confirmed that simultaneous split-screen + online play works — so two players on a couch can queue into an online lobby together.

Will your demo progress carry over?

Unconfirmed. "Will my demo progress carry over to Early Access?" is one of the most-asked community questions, and Sagestone Games has not published a definitive answer as of September 15, 2026. Our advice: enjoy the demo to learn the systems, but do not sink long-term effort into a demo world you may not keep. If an official answer lands, this page gets updated immediately.

Demo vs Early Access: should you wait?

The demo is a vertical slice; Early Access is the growing full game. Play the demo tonight to test the feel — controls, art style, co-op flow — then read our Early Access guide and release date breakdown to decide whether to buy at launch. There is no cost to trying the demo, and the minimum specs are identical to the full game.

Demo FAQ

Is the demo time-limited? No — it has been live since February 7, 2025 and has received content updates rather than expiring. There is no announced removal date.

Do I need the demo if I'm buying at launch? Strongly recommended. It is the definitive compatibility test for your hardware (specs match the full game), and it teaches the systems our beginner guide covers.

Can my friends and I try co-op in the demo? Yes — up to 8 players online, or 4 on one screen with split-screen, and the two can mix. Everyone needs the demo installed and to be Steam friends with the host.

Does the demo include the world boss? Yes, since the February 2026 update. It is designed as a group fight, so bring friends.

Demo progress carryover to Early Access? Unconfirmed — the most-asked demo question, with no official answer yet as of September 15, 2026.
